After two standout editions in 2025 that firmly established Praise the LOUD Fest as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing independent alternative music festivals, the event returns to Sognage on Saturday, 24 October 2026 for another unforgettable celebration of loud guitars, legendary bands, fresh talent and the community that has kept alternative music alive for generations.
Praise the LOUD Fest is more than just a concert: it’s a reunion, a discovery platform and a celebration of the artists who have shaped – and continue to shape – the country’s rock, punk and alternative music landscape. The festival is brought to you by Praise the LOUD, a female-run music agency established in 2021. While the company officially launched in 2021, the team behind it has been actively involved in the South African music and events industry for many years, with deep roots in alternative live entertainment and artist development.
This year’s lineup brings together some of South Africa’s most respected names alongside one of its most exciting new acts:
- BOO! is one of South Africa’s most iconic alternative rock bands and remains a beloved name thanks to their unique Monkipunk sound, energetic live performances and a catalogue that helped define the local alternative scene.
- Ac/Es unites two of South Africa’s most respected rock musicians: acclaimed singer-songwriter Arno Carstens and guitarist, producer and songwriter Evert Snyman. Drawing on decades of experience and a shared passion for powerful, guitar-driven music, the duo has forged a dynamic new creative partnership that blends their distinctive musical legacies into a bold, contemporary rock sound. Their self-titled debut album has earned widespread critical acclaim, including a 2026 South African Music Award (SAMA32) nomination for Best Rock Album, while the duo has also been recognised in the prestigious Duo/Group of the Year category, reaffirming their place among South Africa’s leading rock acts.
- Fuzigish is South African punk royalty and they have spent more than two decades delivering high-energy ska-punk anthems that have become staples of the local alternative scene. Their live performances remain as explosive and crowd-driven as ever.
- Cutting Jade have given us so many memorable hit singles! Known for soaring melodies, powerful songwriting and a loyal following, Cutting Jade returns to the stage with the emotionally charged alternative rock that has made them one of South Africa’s most recognisable independent bands.
- Black Heidi is one of SA’s most captivating emerging singer-songwriters and she has built a reputation for her warm, soulful voice and a genre-blending sound that effortlessly weaves together blues, rock, soul and indie. Backed by a dynamic four-piece band, her powerful live performances are known for their honesty, energy and emotional depth. Following the success of singles “I’m Fine”, which reached No. 1 on the 5FM 5 Nights Indie Chart, “Bullfrog”, and the release of her acclaimed debut album, Sunshine’s Bright Shiny Beam, Black Heidi continues to establish herself as one of the country’s most exciting live acts.
- #SOZLOL are a dynamic DJ duo known for bringing high-energy performances, seamless mixing, and an infectious party atmosphere to every event they play. Closing off the night’s live entertainment, their set blends a wide range of alternative crowd favourites and they have built a reputation for reading the crowd and creating memorable musical experiences.
Praise the LOUD Fest is built around nostalgia, discovery and community. It’s not a genre, it’s a lifestyle. It brings together passionate music lovers who believe alternative music is more than a genre, it’s a culture. From tattoos and alternative fashion to band merch, craft beverages and authentic experiences, the festival celebrates the people who continue to support South Africa’s independent music scene.
Festival gates open at 16:00, with Behind the Curtain VIP Pass holders enjoying exclusive early access from 15:00.
