KONGOS will make an exclusive stop at one of South Africa’s longest running, and most-loved riverside music festivals.
Get ready for a homecoming because one of South Africa’s most internationally successful musical exports is coming home.
KONGOS, the South African-raised band, are returning to their home country to join the line-up for Up The Creek 2027, bringing their distinctive blend of alternative rock, electronic textures and infectious rhythms back to the banks of the Breede River.
For a generation of music fans, the KONGOS name is synonymous with one of the biggest alternative crossover hits of the 2010’s. Their global breakthrough “Come With Me Now” became a worldwide phenomenon, earning multi-platinum status and dominating radio, streaming platforms and international charts – while firmly establishing the four KONGOS brothers as one of South Africa’s most recognisable musical exports. Raised in Johannesburg and now based in Austin, Texas, the four KONGOS brothers return to a country they still call home, and where their music first found a wide audience.
After years of touring internationally, KONGOS, now based in Austin, Texas and recording their seventh studio album, are returning to South Africa for a special homecoming performance at Up The Creek.
“We’ve always had a special connection with South Africa and its music-loving audiences,” say KONGOS. “There’s nothing quite like coming back home and playing for people who have been there since the beginning. We’re really looking forward to being back in South Africa and sharing the stage at Up The Creek.”
Known for their energetic live performances and genre-defying sound, KONGOS bring a catalogue packed with songs that have become part of the soundtrack of a generation – making their return perfectly suited to Up The Creek’s celebration of great live music, good times and shared musical memories.
KONGOS will join a stacked Up The Creek 2027 line-up, with more than 50 artists performing across four days at the iconic riverside festival from 11-14 February 2027.
For those who remember singing along to KONGOS at the height of their international breakthrough – and for a new generation discovering the band for the first time – this is a homecoming worth making some noise about.
KONGOS are coming home. And they’re bringing “Come With Me Now” with them.
Phase 2 tickets are live on Howler. The Full Festival, at the best price for now.
