CapeGate’s neon-lit ice rink returns for the winter school holidays, inviting young skaters and their families to glide, glow and make the most of the season.

CapeGate Shopping Centre is bringing the coolest school holiday outing back to the Northern Suburbs. From 26 June to 19 July 2026, the CG Ice Rink will turn the centre’s covered parking into a glowing winter wonderland filled with neon lights, frosty fun and plenty of reasons to lace up a pair of skates.
Created for children aged three to 15, the rink offers a safe, supervised space where young skaters can find their feet, practise their turns or simply enjoy gliding across the ice with friends and family. Parents are also welcome to join their children on the rink or lend a hand from the sidelines.
“The CG Ice Rink has become one of those school holiday outings that children look forward to all year,” says Zoë Enslin, Marketing Manager of CapeGate Shopping Centre. “There is something special about old-school family fun that gets everyone laughing, moving and spending time together. We love seeing the rink bring families and friends back to CapeGate to make another round of winter memories.”
The rink will be open daily from 10am to 8pm, with the final session beginning at 7pm. Each 50-minute session costs R70 per person and includes skate hire. Parents who take to the ice will pay the same entry fee.
Skaters can secure their preferred session in advance through Webtickets. Walk-ins are also welcome, subject to availability, with card payments accepted at the venue.
