After more than a decade in the music industry, popular singer-songwriter – Muller Brandt – finally has the privilege of sharing his long-awaited debut album with South Africans.

BRAND DIE SKEPE is a full-fledged Afrikaans album specially compiled to take you on a journey through various emotions; from deep meaningful tracks that tug at the heartstrings to sing-along songs that will make you feel like dancing.

The first song on his album, also titled Brand Die Skepe, is also being released today, as well as the music video which was produced by AJP Media House. The video was filmed in Stilbaai.

“It has always been my dream to release an album and I wanted it to be true to who I am,” he shares. “The titular track is very personal to me, because it reflects who I am as a person and artist.”

According to the musician each song on the album holds a special place in his heart. “The track list was compiled with the energy of each song in mind to create the perfect listening experience. It was also important to me to be comfortable with each track on the album. I only included songs that sounded as good on the guitar as they did in their produced format.”

Most of the songs were written with the help of Jattie de Beer, but they also worked with songwriters like Riaan Benadé, Marno van der Merwe and Jako Meyer.

In addition to his debut single, Moedertaal, which was very well received, he believes that Braaibroodjies also has the potential to become a crowd favourite.

“The album is unique, because it is so me! Although there are a lot of musicians that inspire me, Jattie and I managed to find my own sound. Therefore, listeners can look forward to hearing 100% Muller Brandt,” he says.

Muller Brandt was born and raised in Pretoria. His dad’s love of country music ignited his own passion for singing and he has never given up on his dream to be a fulltime musician.

The thirty-year-old artist admits that Theuns Jordaan has had the biggest influence on his own style, but that he also has great admiration for stars like Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Boney M, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp, Neil Diamond and Luke Combs.

He is already working on material for his next album. But for now, he is focusing on promoting the current one and is planning a nationwide tour.

“I want listeners to laugh, cry and dance with me. BRAND DIE SKEPE has a song for each occasion,” he concludes.

The album is now available on all digital platforms. Download it here:
