Today, Independent singer-songwriter and 2022 APRA award winner Ziggy Alberts releases a new single, ‘CAMPFIRE’ from his forthcoming November album ‘DANCING IN THE DARK’. In his classic ‘Ziggy’ charm, this uplifting track is a melodic reminder that you can “light up the campfire” and rise above it all through any time of darkness.

Ziggy explains, ‘CAMPFIRE’ “is one of the crowning achievements of my upcoming album because of the minimalist approach to the production. It has a beautiful blend of old and new; a foot to the floor, with coastal folk banjo and Latin-inspired nylon guitar counter melodies… It’s got this warm sentiment that I think all listeners from the past and now will be able to relate to and enjoy”.

The release of ‘CAMPFIRE’ is accompanied by a beautifully stripped-back acoustic video filmed at Red Bluff in Western Australia. The piece showcases the magnificence of WA’s natural coastlines and cliffs. The visuals, paired with the acoustic transformation of the track, leaves listeners in a space of reverie and in firm agreeance with the song’s uplifting message.

CAMPFIRE arrives hot on the heels of Alberts’ newly announced album titled ‘DANCING IN THE DARK’ coming this November 2022. His previous album, ‘searching for freedom’landed #1 on the AIR Album Chart (Independent Labels) and #5 on the ARIA Top 20 Australian Albums chart in the first week of release. ‘searching for freedom’ has received praise from the likes of American Songwriter, Atwood Magazine and Rolling Stone France.

In May 2022 Ziggy added APRA award winner to his notable list of achievements, including his accredited repertoire total of 6 Gold Singles, 1 Gold Album, 7 Platinum Singles, 1 Double Platinum single and 1 Platinum EP.
