BROGAN RITCHIE: A MUSICAL TREASURE

In the captivating world of music, journeys begin in the most remarkable ways. For Brogan Ritchie, it all ignited with an unforgettable Guns N’ Roses concert in 2018, held at South Africa’s iconic FNB Stadium. It was in that moment, amidst the electric atmosphere, that Brogan’s deep-seated passion for music was born.

Born in Guildford, England, and raised under the vibrant South African sky, Brogan Ritchie emerged from the musical shadows with his debut EP, ‘Daydream’, releasing on 27 October 2023.
This old soul, a mere 19 years of age, has wisdom far beyond his years. Brogan speaks of the vast landscape of his mind, which is where his inspiration predominantly comes from.

Attempting to pigeonhole Brogan’s music into a single genre is a futile endeavour. His sonic journey navigates through a myriad of styles, but predominantly finds its home in the realm of Alternative music, a testament to his boundless creativity and versatility.

Brogan draws inspiration from some of the most iconic names in the music industry. Elton John’s song-writing prowess and piano virtuosity have left an indelible mark on him, as has Harry Styles’ charismatic media presence and remarkable vocal talents. Then there’s Elvis Presley, whose electrifying stage presence and captivating persona have deeply influenced Brogan’s artistic journey.

Surprisingly, during the recording of the music video for ‘Strawberry Sunshine’, Brogan’s team had an unexpected encounter with a herd of cows, which can be seen in the music video, adding a touch of whimsy to the behind-the-scenes experience. In the artist’s own words, “Cows love my music!”

When asked to describe his music as a colour, Brogan finds it impossible to choose just one. He explains that his music spans various genres and emotions, represented by a blend of colours – veridian for self-connection, pink for liveliness, orange for warmth in lyrics, and purple to encapsulate the harmony between love, sadness, and acceptance.

‘Daydream’ is a 6 track EP about his 19 years of experiences, and how Brogan has navigated the world around him. Set to jet off to the UK soon, Ritchie is headed out to secure his place in the international music industry with his commercial music studies.

When it comes to balancing personal and emotional aspects of his music with a broader audience, Brogan believes in being authentic. He creates from the heart and trusts that his music will resonate with the right people who share his message.

It’s a roaring EP with embellished vocals, groovy piano slides and skyrocketing guitar riffs. This EP is sure to make you twirl and do-hop all around the 60s diner in your mind.
