Excited fans will be happy to know that tickets go on sale from 09h00, on ticketmaster.co.za  and bigconcerts.co.za, making the realisation of a lifetime experience, an imminent reality for many.

With an exceptional track record now firmly in play, the ‘Old Skool’ fundis’ are known for teaming up to deliver exceptional live music experiences for local audiences. This time, the Cherrytree Music Company, Big Concerts and media partner, HOT 102.7FM, created much fanfare when they decided on 17-time Grammy Award-winning artist – Sting, as the evolutionary next phase to their collaboration, which will power the “STING 3.0” Global Tour to South Africa, early next year.

Sting will be accompanied by guitarist and longtime collaborator, Dominic Miller, and drummer Chris Maas, known for his work with Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers, with Sting expected to perform hits from his timeless discography, covering both his solo career and as legendary frontman of The Police.

These solo hits include ‘Fields of Gold’, ‘Englishman in New York’, ‘Desert Rose’, and ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith in You’, whilst fans of Sting will remember with fondness Police hits like ‘Message in a Bottle’, ‘Every Little Thing She Does is Magic’, ‘Walking on the Moon’, ‘Every Breath You Take’, and ‘Roxanne’.

The STING 3.0 Tour kicks off at the SunBet Arena, Time Square, in Pretoria on Saturday the 22 March 2025, before closing off what promises to be an exhilarating ‘tour de force’ at the GrandWest Casino in Cape Town on 25 March.

“HOT 102.7FM has built such a strong connection with our audience through the music of Sting and The Police,” said Lloyd Madurai, Managing Director of HOT 102.7FM. “Their hits over the many decades have had such a wide appeal and have become a significant part of the station’s signature ‘Old Skool’ and R&B sound. The concert will be a celebration of all those timeless hits and shared memories with our listeners. I personally can’t wait for him to perform ‘Fragile’ – a song that resonates deeply with me.”

Sting has sold 100 million albums worldwide, covering both his solo work and his time with The Police. A composer, singer-songwriter, actor, author and activist, he’s also received a Golden Globe, four Oscar nominations, a Tony nomination, Billboard Magazine’s Century Award, and Kennedy Center Honors.

Away from his music, Sting’s support for human rights organizations such as the Rainforest Fund, Amnesty International, and Live Aid mirrors his art in its universal outreach. Making this Tour a representation a new era, showcasing selections from his vast catalogue through the lens of a three-piece combo, along with his latest composition, “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart),” released by Cherrytree Music Company/Interscope Records on 5 September.

It’s been a busy year for HOT 102.7FM, with ‘Old Skool’ acts Deacon Blue and OMD having already played to enthusiastic audiences in Johannesburg and the station announcing that both Swedish group Roxette and British rock band Mike + The Mechanics would also be visiting South Africa early in 2025.
