THE EMPOWERING NEW SINGLE ARRIVES 28 AUGUST
AHEAD OF FORTHCOMING EP she’s too much! — DUE 25 SEPTEMBER 2026
FOLLOWS SOUTH AFRICAN RADIO MOMENTUM AS “BEAUTIFUL LIFE” CLIMBS THE 5FM TOP 40
“To me, ‘unapologetic’ is about realising that perfection is overrated — and that being messy, emotional, loud, reckless, or hard to understand doesn’t mean
you have to be sorry.”— Piper Connolly

Following a warm response from South African listeners and the arrival of “beautiful life” on the 5FM Top 40, Phoenix-bred, Los Angeles based alt-pop singer-songwriter Piper Connolly returns with “unapologetic,” a candid new single about choosing self-acceptance over self-editing.
Produced by South Africa’s own Esjay Jones (Billy Corgan, Dave Navarro) and Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft (Gwen Stefani, MGK), and mixed by Grammy winner Nathan Dantzler of The Hit Lab (Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims), “unapologetic” reveals a more vulnerable side of Connolly’s pop-rock world without surrendering its bite. The track pairs emotional directness with a soaring, cathartic release: less an apology refused than a declaration of freedom.
The song is the latest preview of Connolly’s forthcoming EP, she’s too much!, due 25 September 2026. Across the six-track project, she marries candid coming-of-age storytelling and a lifelong love of 2000s pop-rock with sharp contemporary production, effervescent charisma and an instinct for choruses built to be felt together.

Speaking on the song, Connolly says:
“‘unapologetic’ is about finally letting go of the idea that I have to explain, soften, or edit myself to make other people comfortable. I wrote it from that place of being a little reckless, a little dramatic, maybe too loud or too quiet depending on who you ask — and deciding that none of that makes me wrong.
“It’s about self-acceptance, imperfection, and refusing to apologise for feeling things fully. I hope people hear it and feel permission to stop overthinking who they are. Perfection is overrated, and I’d rather be real, messy, and completely myself than pretend to be someone easier to understand.”
SOUTH AFRICAN MOMENTUM
“unapologetic” arrives as Piper’s connection with South African audiences continues to grow. Previous single “beautiful life” entered the 5FM Top 40, introducing her bright, emotionally frank pop-rock to listeners across the country and giving the new release a meaningful radio foundation in the market.
Where “beautiful life” captured the rush of recognising joy again, “unapologetic” turns inward. Its message — that imperfection does not require an explanation — expands the emotional range of she’s too much! while preserving the immediacy, candour and melodic pull that have become Connolly’s signatures.
ABOUT she’s too much! EP (due 25 September)
Recorded in Los Angeles, she’s too much! is both an arresting statement of creative intent and a no-filler pop-rock rollercoaster that conveys the joy, contradiction and emotional intensity of coming of age. The EP moves between celebration, heartbreak, defiance and self-acceptance without asking Connolly to make herself smaller in the process.
“It’s the perfect encapsulation of everything in my life right now,” Connolly says. “It’s soft at times and about love, and then you have edgier and sadder songs that are about heartbreak. But all of it is really about being yourself, being loud, and having fun!”

ABOUT PIPER CONNOLLY
Piper Connolly is a Phoenix-bred, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter whose music turns emotional honesty into kinetic alt-pop and pop-rock. Drawing on the immediacy of 2000s guitar-pop while keeping both feet in the present, she pairs weaponised hooks with a voice that can move from intimate and conversational to full-throttle catharsis.
Her songs make room for the contradictions of growing up: feeling fearless and fragile, romantic and restless, certain and completely lost — sometimes in the same chorus. That candour carries into her adrenalised live shows, inclusive happenings built around connection, surprise and the belief that no one in the room should feel alone in what they are feeling.
Connolly’s rising profile has been supported by coverage from LADYGUNN, EARMILK, Atwood Magazine and others, while “beautiful life” has extended her reach to South African radio through 5FM. With she’s too much!, she delivers her clearest statement yet: identity is not something to dilute for easier consumption.
