DAYDREAM is a song about wanting to help someone escape from their depression. However, both people get trapped in the dream world, and don’t return to reality,” Kyle September explains about the meaning behind the titular track of his recently released debut album that boasts the same central theme of escapism.

According to September the inspiration for the song came to him unexpectedly one night when a melody got stuck in his and he couldn’t sleep until he had finished writing the song. “It is special to me, because it is the first pop song that I wrote where it felt like I have truly found my sound,” he shares.

The feelgood track, that makes you feel like dancing, is his fifth official release and follows in the footsteps of vibey tunes like Cuddle Up, Little Things, Sweetness and Analog Heart, which were all extremely well received and charted on several hit parades.

A music video of the song will also be available soon, so watch this space!

Kyle has been working in the music industry for more than a decade and has a BMus Honours degree from the Wits School of Arts.

Over the years, he has had several career highlights, including performing at Afriski, opening for Francois van Coke at the Misty Waters Festival, and co-hosting an online show with Graeme Watkins during lockdown.

Although his mind is occupied by music 24/7, he also enjoys playing sport and has been a part-time sports coach since 2009.

In addition to creating new music for himself, he is also working on several other projects and reveals that a few exciting collaborations are on the charts for 2023. Currently he is performing as much as he possibly can and looking forward to the festive season.

DAYDREAM not only showcases this talented artist’s songwriting and vocal ability but is also a welcome addition to his already impressive arsenal of positive music.

The song is available on his album.
