The boys from GaloreSA had the privilege to be one of the first to touch, feel and use the newest addition to the Samsung family, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.
From when we opened the box, we could feel the quality that only Samsung offers.
Let’s start with the glass, which is the third most important feature for GaloreSA, as our phones are everywhere with us, and goes through hard labour as we visit numerous events and go to many places to review. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has Gorilla Glass 5 which means less scratches and more endurance. It is also spill, splash and splatter resistant. The viewing pleasure it provides on its 120Hz Super AMOLED display is amazing. Vivid and amazing contrast makes this phone’s screen very cool and the scrolling through Instagram is smooth. The screen is 6.5 inches, so translated to cm, it will be 16,51 cm.
The second most important feature for us is battery life. This phone is kitted with a 5,000mAh battery. With extremely hard usage, the battery lasted us around 14 hours with the screen on automatic brightness. This included streaming, camera usage and social media usage. Good enough for a day at work and coverage of an event after work.
The most important aspect on any device for the boys from GaloreSA, is camera quality. The Samsung Galaxy A53 has a multi-lens and the photo quality is just awesome. We used this device on our recent visit to Durban with our hashtag #GaloreSATravels, and all photos and videos taken during this travel experience was done with this device. It has a 64 MP OIS Camera with numerous functionalities. The focus was awesome as well as the Macro Functionality. Photos and videos were taken with clear, crisp and vivid results. A very nice function is that you can use the AI Image Enhancer directly after you have taken a picture, and this will remaster your photo to optimal quality right away.

If we ever had time in our life to play games on our phones, trust us, we would. But the apps we have downloaded, for example Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok and Netflix, ran smoothly with no “freezing”. Unfortunately, we cannot comment on gaming functionality as we purely use mobile devices for running our social media company.
We seriously multi tasked the phone with uploading videos on social media, whilst recording other videos and taking photos, making WhatsApp video calls, and we had no issues at all. This phone can do many things at once with its’ 5nm Octa-core processor.
Another important aspect on any phone for us, is storage. Although we couldn’t fill the phone with files during our review period, we did get a good 100GB on it. No slowing down occurred, and all our memories was safe.
Security for GaloreSA is of utmost importance and we normally run paid versions of security systems on our phones. However, we used this device without any pad versions, as it has a built-in protection from Samsung Knox into its’ software and hardware from the factory. We did not feel “unsafe” at any second during this review period.
The Dolby Atmos provided good and enriching sound adding to the awesome experience of holding this phone in your hand. We did a bit of streaming of Netflix on the phone and was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality.
The one thing we have noticed which was a bit annoying is the unlocking of the fingerprint functionality where it is a bit slower reading your fingerprint than its’ bigger brothers in the Samsung range.
Overall, an awesome experience at a good price tag. Loads of functions, easy to hold in your hand, lightweight, crisp, and clear photos & videos and just awesome!
