Breaking out in 2021, EGGSTA had major success with her debut single ‘BAE feat Lee Cole’ and follow-up single ‘Flame’. Both singles received loyal support throughout South Africa, achieving Top 10 chart positions across numerous Top 40 shows. ‘Flame’ was also featured on radio stations in the UK highlighted as an ‘Emerging artist to watch’ for 2022.
Kyle Deutsch burst onto the local and international music scene with a rapidly increasing following and several accolades to his name. Kyle has worked with some of Africa’s biggest artists and producers to date; including Cassper Nyovest, Shekhinah, Kwesta and Kelly Khumalo to name a few.
Through a spontaneous phone call from a South African radio DJ embracing the role of ‘Cupid’, EGGSTA and Kyle were formally introduced. The call was sparked by an idea to form a collaboration between the two artists on EGGSTA’s next single. With EGGSTA residing in Cyprus and Kyle in Durban, South Africa, the collab of ‘Young Love’ embarked on a virtual recording journey with all studio sessions completed online.
EGGSTA, describes the single ‘Young Love’, “My idea behind the song was about two people who have been in a long term relationship and their feelings towards one another were still that of a ‘Young Love’. Everything at the beginning of a relationship is like one big love bubble and the infatuation for someone makes you feel like a teenager again.”
‘Young Love’ explores tropical pop and African elements, combined with catchy melodic vocals from EGGSTA and Kyle Deutsch.
