A 3D Surreal Extravaganza, on your plate ? Gastronomical !

The Boys from GaloreSA visited DinnerTime Stories on Wednesday, 16 February 2022.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by friendly staff, requesting any dietary requirements, checking our body temperature, and let you scan a QR Code from your mobile to be routed to an online system where all COVID related screening questions were asked.  Sanitiser is available everywhere and all protocols are adhered to.

We took a 10-meter walk to a small bar area where we were served a glass of Pongracz bubbly whilst listening to LIVE music performed in the background.  People were mingling and the atmosphere was electric.

The bell rung, and we were escorted to our table.  We were seated opposite each other at a 6-seater table and met some amazing people at our table.

The magic started….

This review is going to be different than the rest as we are not going to spoil all the surprises for you.  Just always be ready for the unexpected to happen.  Fireworks !

No spoilers here, but just some mentions…

It is a 6-course dining extravaganza.  The 3D Projection on your table adds the WOW factor and gets a 5/5 from GaloreSA.  The food portions were well sized with just enough to fill you up on every course and leave space for the next amazing chapter to unfold on your table.  The time span between the courses was perfectly timed.  Le Petit Chef literally turns virtual reality into reality.  Whatever you see on your table via the 3D projection, is what you will get in your plate.  The food was scrumptious and extremely well prepared.  All cutlery items were sealed in a plastic bag and there was no touching on items and utensils that you were going to use.  The waiters and waitresses were amazing with top shelf service received from them.   The whole experience was smooth sailing with absolutely no hick ups….Did we mention sailing…hmmm….just watch out for the Octopus. Compliments to the chef and his team !  We had the wine pairing included and we would suggest you also opt in for this option as the ordering of wine per glass can become a bit expensive.

Our favorite course of the evening was the dessert.  A total culinary experience, topped with candy floss, bringing back childhood memories.

The one thing that stood out for us is that Paul Rouessart (Mr. Chef himself) visits each table and chats with his guests.  If you are celebrating a special event, you can expect something unique afterwards and a one-on-one wish from Paul.

If you like fishing, camping, gardening, deep sea diving, North Pole expeditions or even having a braai on a Saturday afternoon, then get ready to be blown away… (literally)

We cannot guarantee any more open slots for the running of the Johannesburg leg of this event.

Please take note that our accompanying video does not include all the effects, food or treats as we really want you to experience this for yourself.

However, Cape Town, get ready to be treated the magical way that just Le Petit Chef can treat you.  So, if you are in Cape Town, word is that Le Petit Chef will be in your town around mid-March.  Don’t delay and book your tickets today.  Get ready to be transported to the secret world where little chefs exists and where fairytales, or should we rather say cheftales, do come true.

Oh yes, and by the way Cape Town, you will be treated to a different show than what we had in Johannesburg.
