Sinikka Monte, the dynamic Finnish and South-African singer-songwriter, has dropped the highly anticipated music video for her latest single, “Knock & Run.” Directed by Max Wunderlich and filmed primarily at the luxurious Grand Hotel Vienna, the video offers a visually stunning accompaniment to Monte’s emotionally charged track.
In the music video, Sinikka Monte takes viewers on a journey through the corridors of the Grand Hotel Vienna, weaving a narrative that mirrors the song’s theme of fleeting acceptance and affection. Collaborating with Frame de la Frame for the filming process, Monte describes the experience as one of the most rewarding of her career, citing the Grand Hotel’s accommodation and support as instrumental to the project’s success.

Reflecting on the filming process, Sinikka shares, “Filming ‘Knock & Run’ was one of the best experiences I have ever had. We brainstormed the concept of the music video together with the team. Grand Hotel Wien was also extremely accommodating, and their suite was an ideal location for the video.”
Sinikka also recalls memorable moments during filming, saying “One of the funniest moments was when we filmed the scene with the cake. Smearing it all over the table was satisfying but cleaning it wasn’t too much fun. I also loved picking out outfits with my stylist and hanging out with her dog between scenes. It was also very cool to see tourists stop and take pictures of us when we were filming outside of the hotel.”

“Knock & Run” delves into the cyclical nature of seeking acceptance, only to have it abruptly withdrawn, drawing inspiration from Monte’s eclectic musical influences, including Madison Beer and Nine Inch Nails. With producer Florian Spies, Sinikka Monte crafts a compelling sonic landscape that mesmerizes listeners from the very first note.
Despite its poignant subject matter, “Knock & Run” infuses a sense of nostalgia, evident in its Beach Boys-inspired outro, adding a unique dimension to the song’s emotional depth.
