Singer, songwriter, and producer Max More releases his brand-new single, “High”. A deeply personal track, “High” explores the intensity of young love, the bittersweet pain of letting go, and the journey of learning to move forward.

High is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written,” Max shares. “It’s about a relationship I had at the end of high school that was unexpected, spontaneous, and unlike anything I’d ever experienced. The connection was so strong that time felt like it stood still when we talked, and everything just flowed. But as much as we wanted it to work, life circumstances pulled us apart, and it ended tragically.”

Written during the difficult process of moving on, the song captures the struggle between holding onto something precious and learning to let go. Interestingly, Max penned “High” before his debut single “Stuck on You”, about the same person, forming a musical narrative that charts his journey from clinging to love and then finding the courage to release it.

“What makes this song special to me is that, while it’s fun and uplifting on the surface, its meaning runs deep. It’s raw, it’s real, and I know a lot of people will relate to it. My hope is that anyone who listens feels seen and understood,” Max explains.

Produced in collaboration with Lee Cole, “High” brings Max’s vision to life with a sound that balances emotional honesty with infectious, feel-good energy.

At just 20 years old, Johannesburg-born Max More is emerging as a bold new voice in pop and indie pop. A singer, songwriter, and producer, Max combines storytelling with a genre-blending sound that captures both the euphoria and heartbreak of first love.

Born into a musically inclined family, Max grew up surrounded by harmonies, instruments, and stage lights. From singing in choirs to performing on stage, music became his second language. After committing to a professional music career in high school and graduating last year, Max has begun releasing music on his own terms, starting with the emotionally charged “Stuck on You”, which reflected the confusion and heartbreak of first love.

Max’s artistry is built on vulnerability and connection. With “High”, he continues to open the door to authentic, relatable experiences and songs that feel like late-night conversations with a friend who truly understands.
