After a busy start to the year with well-received single releases including Y2K-inspired “Just Friends” and fan favourite “Sucker”, Cece Vee returns to the spotlight by putting her own spin on the 2000s classic, originally by t.A.T.u., “All The Things She Said.”
The booming bass and pulsing beats combined with 8-bit style synths create a techno soundtrack that will instantly get you on your feet. This electrifying mix evokes a sense of urgency, perfectly capturing the heart-pounding feeling of not being able to get someone out of your mind.
“This song is so iconic and it reminds me a lot of my own journey growing up in an era where society was not as accepting as it is today; eventually coming out and ultimately overcoming the fear of social stigmas to be myself,” Cece says, “My producer and I gave the track our own flavor with a techno, 8-bit inspired production, as if the song came straight out of a cyberpunk club or a video game soundtrack.”
Cece continues, “The idea for this cover came about really quickly. I was busy working on my release plan for the rest of this year and I thought it would be nice to do something special for Pride month. I was about to record a few new original songs, and I thought it might be cool to record a cover song too. With all of the above in mind, as I was trying to think of ideas for cover songs, this song immediately sprang to mind and I thought it would be a perfect fit for me, my sound, and the occasion.”
Cece has made a significant mark in the music industry in the few years since she has been active. Since her debut, she has been building a steady global fanbase with international playlist, licensing and sync placements, and her impact continues to grow at a steady measured pace with each new release.
After the recent success of ‘Sucker’ reaching number 1 on the Jacaranda Top 10 radio chart, as well as a SAMA nomination for Artist of the Year and multiple placements on Spotify’s GLOW editorial playlist (1M+ listeners), Cece Vee is on a roll with no signs of slowing down.
“All The Things She Said” is a testament to Cece Vee’s talent and versatility, and it will surely be a treat for her own fans as well as fans of the original iconic track.
