The beloved Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series returns to the picturesque Durban Botanic Gardens this winter, launching its 2026 season with a special Father’s Day celebration on Sunday, 21 June. South African music heavyweights Mi Casa and rising star lordkez will headline the opening concert, bringing an unforgettable afternoon of live music, family connection, and outdoor celebration to one of Durban’s most iconic venues.
Set against the tranquil backdrop of the lake and towering trees of the Durban Botanic Gardens, Old Mutual Music at the Lake has become one of the city’s most cherished live music experiences, offering audiences the perfect blend of world-class local talent and relaxed picnic-style entertainment.
This year’s Father’s Day edition invites families to celebrate the dads and father figures in their lives with a memorable day out filled with music, laughter, and shared moments. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, camping chairs, and cooler boxes as they settle in for an afternoon under the winter sun.
Known for their uplifting live performances and chart-topping hits, Mi Casa are set to deliver a soulful and energetic headline performance packed with fan favourites. Adding to the afternoon’s magic is lordkez, whose genre-blending sound and powerful stage presence continue to establish her as one of South Africa’s most exciting contemporary artists.
Beyond the music, the event continues to support a meaningful cause, with proceeds contributing towards the Garden Window Project – an innovative people and plant development initiative that forms part of the Durban Botanic Gardens’ ongoing commitment to community upliftment, environmental education, and sustainability.
