The CoLab Network, in association with AEJ Music, is proud to present Striking a Chord, starring Adrian and Emma-Jean Galliard, with musical direction by Neil Bennett, at The Redhill Arts Festival, for two shows only on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of July.

This follows a sold-out season at 2022’s RedFest with their debut show, Accidentally Viral.

Adrian & Emma-Jean Galliard shot to fame after uploading a video of themselves performing the Andrea Bocelli/Céline Dion hit, The Prayer, to Facebook on Easter Sunday 2020 when the world was in lockdown.  The video was an instant hit, attracting hundreds of thousands of views in just a few days.  It was later shared by UK-based The Music Man where it quickly attracted millions more views.

Their sudden and unexpected fame kicked off a fairytale musical adventure complete with international acclaim and comical incidences of mistaken identity.  After being erroneously identified as the son and granddaughter of Andrea Bocelli, first by a Columbian newspaper, and then by an Israeli press organization, the pair attracted attention from press and TV shows across the world.

Striking a Chord is a musical revue featuring the father and daughter’s trademark mix of light classical, musical theatre & pop hits while exploring how the duo’s music resonates with so many people worldwide.  The show looks at the importance of human connection and how a father and daughter from Johannesburg, South Africa use their unique musical talent to connect with people from different countries and cultures in an unexpected and heartwarming way.

The show features fan favourites Sound of Silence, Time to Say Goodbye, and of course, The Prayer, alongside famous cover hits including Amigos Para Siempre, Defying Gravity, Michael Buble’s Everything and La Vita e Bella and more, while the duo share fascinating insights into their experiences along the way.  It will delight both young and old with its beautiful music and compelling storytelling alongside the pair’s trademark humorous banter.

Adrian Galliard states; Last year we debuted our first show, Accidentally Viral, at RedFest to sold out houses and the most amazingly supportive audiences, so it’s fitting to premier our new show, Striking a Chord, at Redfest before we leave for our tour of England in August. We are looking forward to a fantastic festival later in July.”

Some media reviews received:

“There is a palpable connection, to each other and to the music.” – Graeme Richards, Expresso Breakfast Show

“Some Goosebump moments with those harmonies and the way their voices blend.” Rebogile Mabotja, Radio DJ, Radio 702

“Adrian and Emma-Jean were mistakenly identified as relatives of a very famous Italian opera singer.  It’s testament to just how good they are, and it’s such a compliment.” – Carolyn Steyn, Radio Host, Classic FM

Striking a Chord is on stage at the Redhill Arts Festival at Redhill School in Sandton – the Len Miller 2 venue – and runs for 70 minutes with no interval.

Performances are Saturday 29th July at 15h00 & Sunday 30th July at 17h00.

Tickets are R130 and available online via TicketPros, via the Redhill Festival Website or at the door before the show.

Emma-Jean Galliard concludes; “I’m really excited to perform at the Redhill Arts Festival again in 2023 – and see some of the other great shows on the programme.  Redfest has opened so many doors for us, it’s really our happy place, so I’m really looking forward to our shows on the 29th & 30th July.”
