Joburg City Theatres Celebrates “Legends of Soweto in the City of Gold” Soiree at Soweto Theatre

Soweto Theatre is proud to announce a landmark celebration, “Legends of Soweto in the City of Gold,” which will be held on September 29, 2024. This distinguished event will pay tribute to 40 exceptional artists whose work has impacted various artistic disciplines, including acting, dance, music, and poetry. Each honouree will be celebrated with a star embedded in the walls of the iconic Soweto Theatre for their extraordinary contributions to the arts.

This celebration extends to the tradition of honouring artistic excellence in the City of Joburg, introduced during Joburg Theatre’s 60th anniversary under the theme of ‘Connecting Stars in the City of Gold’ in 2022. continuing by linking the stars of artistic achievement to the vibrant cultural scene of Joburg, the event underscores the city’s rich artistic heritage and its ongoing commitment to supporting and celebrating the arts.
