He was arrested without a charge sheet, thrown into the prison system without a phone call, right to an attorney and without knowing why he was arrested. The accusations were false but the damage has been done and Gernandt found himself in the pits of darkness. For 18 days, with the help of certain inmates, he navigated this darkness and in the stillness found some light; through the love of his family and his new found faith.
Through this journey, he reflected on his worth as a man and his purpose physically and spiritually.
