South Africa, the countdown is officially over. Multi-platinum, global hitmaker Calum Scott returns to Mzansi this week with his highly anticipated ‘The Avenoir Tour’, bringing his powerful live show to Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria.

After first touring South Africa in 2018 in support of his debut album Only Human, Calum Scott has built a deep and enduring connection with local audiences. Subsequent tours in 2022 and 2023 saw thousands of fans flock to sold-out venues, cementing South Africa as one of his favourite places to perform.

Now, as part of his biggest tour to date, Calum is back once more – and the demand has been overwhelming. Tickets for the Cape Town concert on 14 January are officially sold out, while only a limited number of tickets remain for the Durban show on Friday, 16 January, and Pretoria on Saturday, 17 January.

“I remember my first time in South Africa, being blown away by the demand for tickets, and it made me feel so special,” says Scott. “Every time I’ve been back, I’ve felt the same love and excitement. Touring is my favourite part of my job, but touring in places like South Africa is just a dream come true.”

Avenoir: the album behind the tour

The tour celebrates the release of Calum Scott’s acclaimed third studio album, Avenoir, released on 10 October 2025 via Capitol Records. The 14-track album marks a bold evolution for the UK singer-songwriter, pairing his signature soul-stirring ballads with groove-driven, romantic anthems and daring new sonic territory.

The album’s title is inspired by John Koenig’s The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, defining Avenoir as “the desire that memory could flow backward.” Reflecting on the concept, Scott explains:
“‘Avenoir’ refers to how we move through life like a rower moves – always moving forward but facing backward, seeing where we’ve been but not where we’re going. These songs speak to regret and sorrow, but also to undying love and the need to live life to its fullest.”

The album features standout singles “Die For You”, “God Knows”, and the guitar-driven “Unsteady”, alongside adventurous tracks like “Peripheral Vision,” “Roots,” and “One More Drink” featuring Lauren Alaina. It also includes a stunning, estate-approved reimagining of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, pairing Calum’s vocals with Whitney’s original stems in a moving symphonic duet.

World-class live experience

The Avenoir Tour is a truly global production, spanning 48 cities across Europe, South Africa, Asia, North America, and the UK. Fresh off stadium performances across Asia and Europe supporting Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour, Calum brings this elevated live experience to South African stages – delivering emotional depth, vocal power, and moments that fans will remember for a lifetime.

With over 10 billion streams worldwide, Calum Scott’s music has become the soundtrack to life’s most meaningful moments, from weddings to moments of loss and healing. His unmistakable voice and deeply personal songwriting continue to resonate across continents and cultures.

Special opening acts announced

Fans attending the South African shows are in for an added treat, with exciting local acts joining the tour:

Cape Town – Wednesday, 14 January: Opening the Cape Town show is Anica Kiana, one of South Africa’s most exciting young pop talents. Known for her catchy hooks, confident vocals, and polished pop sound, Anica has quickly made a name for herself with a string of radio hits and high-energy live performances. Her vibrant stage presence and relatable songwriting make her the perfect artist to set the tone ahead of Calum Scott’s sold-out Cape Town concert.

Durban – Friday, 16 January: Durban audiences will be warmed up by Apple Gule, a rising South African singer-songwriter known for his emotive vocals, honest lyricism, and soulful pop sound. With a growing fanbase and a reputation for heartfelt live performances, Apple Gule is fast becoming a name to watch on the local music scene.

Pretoria – Saturday, 17 January: Opening the Pretoria show is Easy Freak, the acclaimed indie-pop duo celebrated for their genre-blending sound, infectious melodies, and introspective songwriting. Their polished live set and alternative edge make them the perfect complement to Calum Scott’s emotionally charged performance.

While Cape Town is officially sold out, fans still have a final chance to secure tickets for Durban and Pretoria, but availability is extremely limited. The last few tickets are on sale from https://breakout.events/ or Webtickets.co.za.

Calum Scott’s return to South Africa is more than a tour stop: it’s a celebration of music, memory and connection. With Avenoir as its emotional backbone and a world-class live show at its heart, this week’s concerts promise to be nothing short of unforgettable.
