Joburg Ballet is honoured to announce that this year principal dancer Tammy Higgins
celebrates her 20th anniversary as a professional dancer.
The occasion will be marked with an onstage presentation on Friday 11 July at the end of that evening’s performance
of the Joburg Ballet/Cape Town City Ballet co-production of Swan Lake at the Joburg Theatre in which she is dancing the legendary role of Odette-Odile
in which she made an acclaimed role debut last week, partnered by fellow principal dancer Revil Yon.
Tammy Higgins joined South African Ballet Theatre in 2005 and in 2008 joined the Hungarian National Ballet
where she worked with renowned choreographers, teachers and dancers.
She joined the Croatian National Ballet in 2015. She was a principal dancer with Cape Town City Ballet from 2020 to 2022 and joined Joburg Ballet in May 2022.
She was promoted to Joburg Ballet principal dancer in July 2024.
The Swan Lake season at the Joburg Theatre ends on Sunday 13 July and moves to the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 25 to 27 July.
Tammy Higgins and Revil Yon perform the leading roles in Cape Town on Saturday 26 July at 2pm.
