Cape Town-based singer-songwriter Amy Jones is marking a week of milestones with the release of her latest single, “For You,” from her heartfelt album my forever friend. The single release coincides with Amy’s first wedding anniversary to her husband, Lee Willcock, on Monday November 25th and just days before she anticipates the birth of their son on Friday, November 29th.
“For You” – A Song from the Heart
Written as a tribute to her husband, Lee, “For You” is a celebration of enduring, unconditional love. “I wrote ‘For You’ to the love of my life – Lee Willcock,” shares Amy. “It’s about a love that endures, never gives up, never loses hope and faith in one another. This song was also our ‘first dance’ song, and I can’t believe we’re celebrating one year of marriage. How time flies!”
Now on the cusp of motherhood, Amy reflects on how the song has taken on a deeper meaning. “Being 39 weeks pregnant and looking forward to the birth of our son, this song for me has such a different yet powerful meaning. I’ve been waiting for nine months to meet this little person growing inside of me, and now the time has come. I simply can’t wait to look him in the eyes and just stare in awe and wonder.”
