Founded in 2018, Vintage Nouveau Burlesque took the stage by storm with its incredible troupe of creative thespians, hosting its first (of many) shows in early 2019.
Since then the troupe has grown and evolved, surviving Covid on an eyelash and a prayer they came out the other side stronger and stranger than ever!
This year Vintage Nouveau Burlesque welcomes four FABULOUS new members to the family, all bringing their own individual flavor of sass & sexiness. Composed of more variety than ever, Vintage Nouveau Burlesque is once again set to take the South African Burlesque scene by storm.
Incorporating a myriad styles from Queerlesque, Draglesque, Boylesque, Neolesque, Nerdlesque and of course traditional Burlesque styles, Vintage Nouveau has something for everyone!

Angemon has been in the events and music industry for over 20 years.
He studied sound engineering and lighting through LSOS in the UK and events through a myriad of schools and on the job training.
Having been part of the original Vintage Cheek troupe, Angemon has honed his burlesque event skills and vision, and eventually joined forces with the evolved Vintage Nouveau. As one of the founding members, he brings his various array of talents and creativity to a new wave of burlesque performers and audience members.
He loves nothing more than to cheer on both the audience and performers at each event and to ensure that the performers know they have a sound and trustworthy fellow member to back them up with whatever they need.

With over 15 years of dance experience in Ballroom, Latin, Contemporary, Aerial Silks, Lyra, Fire Dancing, Flow, not to mention the Pole (wink wink), Brock Hard BURST into the Boylesque scene in 2018. An enigma wrapped in bacon covered in cheese and wearing very little undergarments.
Good on his knees but better on his back, Brock delights, teases, thrills – and oftentimes shocks – audiences on stage with his myriad talents and tasseled appendages.
Brock loves long walks on the beach, trauma, and canapés, and is always down to shave a few eyebrows.
With more than just a flare for the dramatic, Brock will have you gasping for air and gagging for MORE!

Lady Nightshade started her Burlesque journey in 2017 at Vintage Cheek. There, performing alongside Meme Le Meow and being mentored and trained by Miss Oh!, Lady Nightshade created the treat that is her Nightshade signature. A combination of comedic and neo-burlesque with a sprinkle of vintage glamor.
Lady Nightshade is a delightful tease, creating acts that leave you smiling at the mixture of naughty and nice, sweet and sassy, silly and sensual.

Miggie Antoinette was born, not yesterday, but the day before, to loving parents Gnat and Midge.
With more Delulu than a Communist Dictator, Miggie actually sees themselves as a Socialist, but only because they attend Social Parties.
When they’re not giving back to the people (“Let them eat Koeksisters!”), they’re getting the people to give to Miggie.
Known for their exquisite make-up, and Drag Clownery, and General Gender Fuckery, Miggie Antoinette is definitely the most “out there” being in your immediate universe.
Beware this queer Queen, they’ll eat you faster than a free biscotti with Tea.

Actor’s agent, theatre-practitioner, director, trainer and writer by day- Misandry is an ironic & subversive gender-bending personification that uses elements of drag, humour and physical theatre to entertain, make you look, and question these silly notions of gender performativity that we’ve placed on ourselves.
Misandry has been operational in the South African entertainment ambit for over 15 years, with a firm foot in the theatrical realm by having written and directed several industrial and educational productions, along with a few comedies and a drag musical revue for sh*ts & giggles.
A weirdo with the occasional glitter-beard that’ll make you stare, frown, laugh, feel aroused and hopefully inspire you to embrace your own inner freak and join the fight against defeating the patriarchy.

With her long luscious legs and delectable derriére, Sassy is a sultry little snack served with a hearty serving of silliness.
As a former winner of The Tournament of Tease South Africa, Sassy loves to glitter up, get gorgeous and join forces with other artists and performers.

Whether wrangling props, setting the scene or adding a touch of magic backstage, Rusty & Moon are the unseen heroes keeping the show running smoothly.
Known for their quick wit and even quicker hands, they bring both grit and charm to every performance.
Tom Cat | MC

After being abandoned in the mountains in the Karoo as a 38 year old child*, Tom was found by a traveling Burlesque troupe. They took him in because they like his ears, although they insisted on adding sequins to them to make him feel part of the group. Tom led a quiet life for a while, helping to repair wagon wheels and pulley systems for the flying acts, until he was called upon to protect the troupe from a particularly ravenous audience.
Tom now acts as the MC for Vintage Nouveau Burlesque, making sure the audience knows the rules and can enjoy the shows to the fullest while keeping an eye on his sisters and brothers so that they can make the show the best they can.
Tom is doing his best to never grow up and never lose his love of playtime and balls of yarn, although mostly the yarn is covered in glitter now. The troupe pets him and treats him to new ears now and then while they all travel the world together as a happy family.
