In addition to his exceptional talent as a musician and songwriter, Len Muller is also known as a man who is deeply passionate about his family, especially his role as a father.
It, therefore, comes as no surprise that his latest EP, ARENDE EN ENGELE (Eagles and Angels), is dedicated to his wife and son.
This project offers an intimate and personal glimpse into Len’s life, inspired by his journey as a father, husband, musician, and human being.
“I think listeners will connect with the honesty and emotion in the songs on the EP. It offers a deep insight into the emotional journey of fatherhood, and I believe it will resonate not onlywith parents, but with anyone grappling with deeper life issues. The songs are intimate, and I hope they provide comfort and encouragement to anyone who listens to it,” he explains about the inspiration behind his new release.
The album, which he describes as an “acoustic ballad album with deep lyrics and intimate vocal recordings,” features a combination of acoustic pop and country music and was produced by the award-winning Theo Crous at Bellville Studios.
“Theo’s expertise and feel for emotion and song meaning brought the songs to life in a way that beautifully showcases the raw emotion of the lyrics in every track,” he shares about the opportunity to work with such a seasoned and talented producer.
All the tracks on the EP were written by Len himself, except for a cover of the Prime Circle’s hit, She Always Gets What She Wants.
“I am very excited to share that this release includes my very first English recordings. I felt that the themes of the songs were so personal that it allowed me to also sing in English, which was a new and refreshing challenge for me. I hope that the combination of languages will give the EP a broader appeal and reach people who may not have listened to my music before.”
The release of the album also introduces fans to the central song, VERWAGTINGS (Expectations), which serves as a love letter to his son, Arend.
According to Muller, it is one of the most personal songs he has ever written, and he hopes it will be something his son can always hold on to.
“I wanted to create something that would remind Arend of how much I love him and how I always want the best for him,” says Len. “The song is filled with hope, love, and the fears that every parent has for their child’s future. I tried to keep it very intimate and sincere, and I hope the song will remind people of the importance of family and the small moments that often have the biggest impact.”
VERWAGTINGS follows in the footsteps of Jy’s Okay (of which a remix is also available), the first release from his new EP, as well as many other major radio hits. Since the beginning of Len’s career, his music has been streamed more than 2 million times on Apple Music.
He is currently working on a full-length album, planning performances to share his latest music with fans, and managing major artists like Juan Boucher and Danie Reënwolf.
With deep, introspective lyrics and captivating melodies, ARENDE EN ENGELE, and especially VERWAGTINGS, offer more than just music; they are an emotional journey that invites listeners to take a deeper look into their own lives.
