South African Pop singer-songwriter Andre Graham releases his latest single, ‘Bestfriend,’ today, August 8th. The track, co-written and produced by renowned South African producer Luke Goliath, delves into the complexities of relationships, exploring the tension that can arise when one suspects a partner’s best friend has ulterior motives.
Andre Graham elaborates on the song’s theme, stating, “This song represents a situation that I think quite a few people in relationships find themselves in. When your partner has a best friend that you believe has ulterior motives. You feel that your partner is not being truly honest with you. You desperately want to hold onto your relationship, but you have this sinking feeling that there is something going on behind your back.”
“Bestfriend” follows the success of Graham’s previous hit, “Around The World,” which was released in December 2023. The single garnered substantial radio play across South Africa on major stations like 5fm, 947, and Algoa FM, reaching number 1 on both 5FM and KC107.7 charts, charting in the Top 10 on Algoa FM’s chart, and establishing Graham as a prominent figure in the South African music scene.
Drawing inspiration from a wide range of artists, including Drake, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, The Neighbourhood, and Sleeping With Sirens, Graham has developed a distinctive sound that blends pop, hip-hop, and alternative elements. His music, characterized by soft pop vocals and emotive, melodic confessionals, is reminiscent of artists like Trevor Daniel, Iann Dior, and Blackbear.
Graham’s musical journey began in 2018, sharing his music on platforms like SoundCloud. His early work focused on the emotional highs and lows of young love, using music as a medium for expression.
