Ultra South Africa Successfully Concludes Epic Ninth Editions In Cape Town And Johannesburg, Further Cementing Its Stature As Africa’s Premier Electronic Music Festival

ULTRA South Africa, Africa’s premier electronic music festival, has outdone itself yet again in 2024, delivering an unforgettable experience to tens of thousands of music enthusiasts across Cape Town and Johannesburg.

The festival, known for its unparalleled lineups, saw groundbreaking performances from global icons such as Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, W&W, and Vintage Culture, alongside regional legends Major League DJZ, Shimza, and Kyle Watson.

On the 1st of March, the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town was electrified by the sheer magnitude of the event. Attendees were mesmerised by the high-caliber production, the dynamic range of sounds, and the relentless energy that pulsed through the venue.

The momentum continued in Johannesburg on the 2nd of March with a refreshed layout and event production that exceeded all expectations. 

In a memorable moment, Steve Aoki brought out local sensations Major League DJz and Moonchild Sanelly to premiere new music, infusing his set with an irresistible African twist. The energy continued to surge when Steve Aoki and Afrojack united on the Main Stage and gave fans a performance of their new Afroki collaboration, ‘Everything You Do’ featuring Aviella. 

ULTRA South Africa‘s status as a premier destination for dance music aficionados was further cemented by hard-hitting Main Stage performances in both cities, including Skrillex’s incendiary closing set and W&W’s high-octane showcase.

Both cities also saw the RESISTANCE Stage serve up a bevy of house and techno beats, headlined by Brazilian underground juggernaut Vintage Culture, with additional pulsating performances from Shimza, Melé, Da Capo B2B Kitty Amor, and JAIIME.

Meanwhile, The Smirnoff Storm Room Stage was buzzing with activity, and saw electrifying performances from DBN Gogo, Kabza De Small, 2wobunnies, Kelvin Momo, Kooldrink, Lelowhatsgood, Musa Keys, Oscar Mbo, Sio, Thakzin, and Tyler ICU.

The Club House Stage created a diverse musical experience by serving up nonstop beats from DJ Buhle, Jevan Binder, Kasango, Lazarusman, Naak, Timo ODV, Trancemicsoul, Tristan Urwin, Vimo, Darque, Das Kapital, and Roger Goode B2B Kyle Cassim

As always, ULTRA South Africa proudly spotlighted homegrown talent, celebrating the rich diversity of South African music.
