Accomplished singer and songwriter, Jimmy Nevis drops his next track ‘Touch Me’ and announces the title and release date for his forthcoming studio album “Things We Don’t Talk About” which is set for release on Fri 27 January. Nevis also makes the album available for pre-save which fans can access HERE.
Jimmy Nevis continues to celebrate 10 years in the music industry as a household name this year, delivering hits like Heartboxing, 7764, Elephant Shoes and Balloon. Releasing new music in 2022 with singles ‘AYO’ and now ‘Touch Me’, Jimmy also announces the release date of his forthcoming studio album “Things We Don’t Talk About” due on Friday 27 January 2023.
‘Touch Me’ is a fresh remake of Dawnay’s classic hit single ‘You Touch Me’ with Nevis’ unique take and remake of it.
“I was working on a beat one day and the melody of Dawnay’s track just kept popping in my head – next thing I knew, I was chatting to his publishing team who were very supportive in letting me sample his incredible song. This song is nostalgic and carries a big South African Spirit. I wanted to bring it back, but in my own way.”
Nevis speaks further on the development of his version of the song and says “I did 4 versions of this song and eventually we went with the afrobeat. It was produced by myself and 2 of South Africa’s best producers: Shaney Jay and Ameen Harron. I just wanted to have fun with it and not take life too seriously.”.
With the release of the second single from Nevis’ forthcoming studio album “Things We Don’t Talk About”, he has the album available for pre-save and is incredibly eager for the release. What can fans expect? “An album is always an exciting release, but this one is a lot more out there. I think people are going to relate to a lot of it. I hope they take the time to digest it properly – the lyrics have many layers.”
Jimmy Nevis has dropped another big Summer track just in time for the holidays and also has a special message for everyone this December: “Live your best life – let’s have fun and enjoy the season. I can’t wait to see you all at my shows next year.”
