Since winning over the hearts of local fans on SA IDOLS fourteen years ago, Andriëtte has gone from strength to strength and is constantly showing why she is worthy of her place in the local music industry.
Now she is back in the spotlight with a brand-new single that perfectly showcases her deep, soothing voice.
SONDER LIEFDE, written by Noa Milan and produced by Dirk van Niekerk, is about how love is what keeps us going in difficult times.
“I believe that everything will be okay as longs as we have love in our lives,” she shares about the inspiration behind the song. “Everyone has loved before or wants to be loved and that is why SONDER LIEFDE will appeal to a broad audience.”
The same message, that everyone needs love, is captured in the beautiful music video produced for this uplifting song.
“In the video, we show how you can better someone’s day by showing them love and spending time with them,” she explains.
The video will be available online from 25 November 2022.
SONDER LIEFDE follows in the successful footsteps of various major radio hits, including Mis jou Meer, Dink aan My, Vat my hoër, Sewe Oseane, Napoleon, My Kind, Bittersoet van Liefde, Dinge, Druppel in die See and more.
Andriëtte made her debut in the music industry in 2007 after being named runner up in the South African version of the reality program, IDOLS.
Her debut album, Diamant, was released shortly thereafter and won a Vonk Music Award for Best Female Contemporary Album in 2008. Six albums followed, with Wat Rym met Liefde earning her a Ghoema Award for Best Female Contemporary Album in 2014. She has also performed at some of the biggest Afrikaans music shows the country, including Huisgenoot Skouspel and Krone.
The 36-year-old Capetonian, born and raised in Brackenfell, currently lives in Durbanville with her husband and three sons. She worked in the beauty industry before she started singing and is currently doing vocal training with Amanda Luyt.
According to the artist she sings about matters of the heart and sees Steve Hofmeyr, Laurika Rauch and Michael Bublé as role models in the music industry. She would also like to collaborate with Elvis Blue someday.
The music industry has taught her that success can only be achieved through God’s grace and that she should make the best of each opportunity that comes her way.
When she is not singing, she helps out at her husband’s company. She plans on releasing more new music in 2023.
