The Rand Show was held for the first time in two years at the Nasrec show grounds during period from 13 April till 18 April.
The GaloreSA boys visited the show on Friday, 14 April, and we had loads of fun.
The weather was perfect, and the visitors were excited. Public Holiday, sunny, no wind…What more can a person ask for.
There was entertainment galore with the Theme Park being extremely busy. The Music Festival area was filled with excited guests who couldn’t wait to experience a live show again. A smaller stage was set up close to the food court area, where there were interactive entertainment for the kids, and some local artists performing.
We had a slow stroll through the halls, exploring what the Rand Show had to offer. There was a bit of everything, and more !
Our favourite hall was Hall 7, which was themed as the Indoor Market. There we were fascinated by the products on offer, and the biltong was extremely nice as well. We bought some really amazing goodies and supported local small businesses.
The Kids Zone was very cool, as the dinosaurs got me standing still for a while to absorb the magnificent way these were built. The Kids Con area was also jam packed with some very cool characters.
During lunch time, we challenged our taste buds and had to make a choice of where to eat. There were food vendors to cater for all types of tastes. Curries, burgers, pancakes, doughnuts, pizzas, fish, wraps…The list goes on. The support from the public was unbelievable.
The SANDF stand was remarkable. It was so cool seeing these weaponry and vehicles used in real life.
The two highlights for us were the drifting area and the helicopter rides. And we could see that the public also enjoyed these two features.
Overall, safety and covid regulations was well adhered to. A massive thumbs up to the organisers and everyone involved with the Rand Show 2022. This was one for the books.
We seriously cannot wait for next years’ event.
